Requirements for DICOM dataset
To process your image data, AIRAscore requires datasets with the following parameters:
◼ T1 dataset, native, DICOM format: MR Image IOD
◼ Clear gray-white contrast between gray and white matter and, if possible, hypointense representation of CSF
◼ 3D dataset
◼ Device manufacturer: GE, Philips oder Siemens
◼ Field strength: 1.5 or 3 Tesla
◼ Resolution of image datat in each spatial direction< 2mm and voxel size ≤ 2.4 mm³
◼ The head must be completely captured
◼ FoV 160 – 260 mm in both directions
◼ Number of slices* slice thickness = 160 – 260 mm
◼ The head should not be captured tilted if possible
◼ No pronounced artifacts should be visible in the image (motion, folding, etc.)
Protocol
WE recommend the new ADNI protocols to achieve a good gray-white matter contrast (ADNI3 ADNI-Website). These are described in detail on the ADNI website for different scanner types. For a 1.5T protocol, the resolution should additionally be isotropically increased to 1x1x1 mm³, however this needs to be checked on the respective device taking with the individual coil configuration into account.
Further details for your device manufacturer can also be found in our Dicom Conformance Statement.
